Bill Nesbitt has played guitar since 1965, and banjo and mandolin since 1979. He helped found the Old School Bluegrass Band, one of Arkansas' most popular bluegrass groups, in 1990, going to Washington D.C. in 1993 with them to play in several Inauguration-related concerts. Since then the band has played at Silver Dollar City several years running and continues to play concerts in and around Arkansas. He plays mostly mandolin with the OSBB, serves as recording engineer for the band and runs the band's Web site, www.oldschoolband.com. He also plays guitar as half of the Little Rock Swing duet Thurman and Nesbitt, covering tunes from the Swing era, including many from the Django Reinhardt catalog. He has taught private lessons for the past several years on mandolin, banjo, guitar and bass, normally scheduling 17-20 students at any given time. He teaches in his home studio in central Little Rock. |
