Instructors

Tim Trawick, 2007 Arkansas State Fiddle champion, has been performing and teaching stringed instruments since his teen years. A multi-instrumentalist (mandolin, guitar and fiddle), Trawick toured with Christian band “Forerunner” in the early 80s. In 1988 he crossed the ocean and performed for thousands in Europe on tour with the bluegrass band “Wildfire”.  Trawick has participated in a number of recording projects including a mandolin/guitar piece that was used on tv and radio commercials for a number of years in central Arkansas. Trawick has been married to Jeanne for 28 years and their two sons are both accomplished musicians. A passionate project of Mr. Trawick’s is his church work with kids teaching Bible memory songs.

Bill Nesbitt has played guitar since 1965, and banjo and mandolin since 1979. He helped found the Old School Bluegrass Band, one of Arkansas' most popular bluegrass groups, in 1990, going to Washington D.C. in 1993 with them to play in several Inauguration-related concerts. Since then the band has played at Silver Dollar City several years running and continues to play concerts in and around Arkansas. He plays mostly mandolin with the OSBB, serves as recording engineer for the band and runs the band's Web site, www.oldschoolband.com. He also plays guitar as half of the Little Rock Swing duet Thurman and Nesbitt, covering tunes from the Swing era, including many from the Django Reinhardt catalog. He has taught private lessons for the past several years on mandolin, banjo, guitar and bass, normally scheduling 17-20 students at any given time. He teaches in his home studio in central Little Rock.

Charlotte Crosmer has been playing the violin since she was four years old. In 2003, she won the Arkansas State Old Time Fiddle Championship at the tender age of twelve. In 2004, she had the privilege of playing on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion radio show as a featured artist, and also got to perform with Sam Bush. Charlotte has been a member of the Conway Symphony Orchestra since 2001, and is now in her second year as a violin performance major at the University of Central Arkansas.
